Firstly, my name is Andrea Brattole and I'm currently a senior at North Arlington High School. I consider myself to be a wonderful student and the grades that I earn reflect that. My best subject is English, but I also do well in my other classes. On June 24th, I'll be graduating from high school, which will open up a world of opportunities for me. I'm incredibly excited to move on from high school and to begin life as a college student. I'm thankful that I have the chance to continue my education, unlike so many students who just don't have that opportunity. I'll be attending Kean University in the fall and majoring in Psychology. With diligence and dedication to my work, I'm positive that I'll be successful as a college student.
Throughout the year, the Multimedia class that I've taken has been unlike any other class that I've taken before. I've learned certain things on the computer and used specfic programs that I didn't have much knowledge about before. I'm surprised at how much information I've learned while taking this class and how easy it actually is to work with these programs. I've worked with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Audacity, SWiSHmax, Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, and Windows Live Movie Maker. I liked working on all of the projects that I was assigned because they were actually fun and interesting to create.Some of the projects that I've completed include: 1. Swish Top Ten List, 2. I was assigned to create a Swish video of a list of top ten things on a certain topic. I chose the top ten desserts I like. I included graphics, text, and sound on each of the slides. I was able to choose the way the text and pictures would be seen on the screen. This was an easy project to complete and I really liked using the Swish animation program.
I was assigned to create a Swish video in the form of a greeting card. I chose to make mine about Christmas. I included graphics that relate to the holiday season, and I also included music, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, throughout the video. It was very fun to create because I love Christmas and it was interesting to learn how to create an animated greeting card.
Animoto Video
I was assigned to create a video on Animoto on whatever I'd like to focus it on. I chose to create a video for my mom for Mother's Day as a unique gift. I chose to do this because it's something that could be sentimental and that she'd appreciate very much. I enjoyed creating the video on Animoto because there were a variety of choices to choose from and many different options. It allowed me to display all of the pictures I wanted in a specific order and to have text inbetween each picture. This was one of my favorite projects to complete and my mom loved the video.
Internet Privacy Glogster http://s38mz3z.edu.glogster.com/false I was assigned to create a virtual poster on Glogster about internet privacy. My topic was on internet safety. I was able to type as much text on the poster as I wanted, upload pictures on the poster, and use different backgrounds and colors. I liked using this web site because it allowed me to do what I would have been able to do on normal poster paper. It made learning the information interesting and the poster looked appealing and creative as well.
I was assigned to create a type of internet hoax or urban legend in a creative way and display it by using whatever program I felt would show it best. I chose to use Microsoft Word and create a hoax about a scenario related to the new Scream movie. I wrote it as an online article on a web site that contains the latest news. I wrote about the multiple deaths surfacing around the Scream 4 film. I used accurate information in the article and used some creativity to make it sound realistic and interesting.
I was assigned to create a brochure in PowerPoint about a specific country. I chose to make a brochure about Italy because I'm Italy. I used information that I researched to put into the brochure and included pictures of Italy and its cuisine. I used unique backgrounds and text. I createdan inside and outside to the brochure. I liked learning how to easily create brochures on the computer.
I was assigned to create a PowerPoint about the year I was specifically given. I had the year of 1983. I researched events that occurred in this year in different areas, such as Science, Music, and History. I included various pictures relating to these topics and created buttons that acted as links to certain slides. I also included music clips on the music slides which was very cool. Also, the first slide had a Swish animation video that I created as an introduction to the project.
I was assigned to create a Prezi on the country of my choice. I chose to make a Prezi about Italy. With the research I collected, I typed it into the Prezi, and uploaded pictures relating to each topic. I included facts about Italy, its cuisine, and its history. I had a variety of texts, layouts, themes, and backgrounds to choose from. I really liked creating this Prezi because it was a way of creating a project online that was interesting anf fun for me.
Public Service Announcement Video
I was assigned to create a Public Service Announcement video in Movie Maker that had a purpose and lesson for the audience. I chose to base my video on unrecognized depression and suicide. I took videos that related to the topic and pictures as well. I was able to choose what order the pictures and videos were displayed. I incorporated music into this video as well which really made an impact on the whole video. I included text and research on this serious topic and statistics. This was my favorite assignment that I worked on this year because it was extremely interesting and cool to create myself. Also, it was something that I took very seriously and I think my video would have a serious impact on any audience which was my goal.

I had already used Prezi once before and it was a program that I found to present infortmation in a fun yet eye catching way. I used a path this time which helped organize my information. I included facts about pollution and pictures that deomnstrated the seruiousness of the topic. This was a project that I really enjoyed making as well.
